Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban Opening Scene

As this film is a series of many, there are some things which are kept in throughout all of them. For example, there is the world known theme tune which is kept at the start of each of the films. Particularly in this film in which the music is played while there is dialogue. However, as each of these films progress, the music becomes more detailed and there is always some kind of change to it. The may be because of the films as well as the music become more and more popular.

Right at the start, there is a small recurring light which brings the first sense of a light in the film as it starts in darkness. as the music is playing, it zooms in to the destination to where the recurring light is coming from where the main character is trying to read a book but the only light which we can use is from his magic wand which is is where the light is coming from, at the start of the opening sequence.

The only dialogue which is being said is the spell in which to make the magical, mysterious spell. the camera then zooms out to so the audience can see the whole of the room in which action can then take place. No real effects are used expect when the Warner Brothers trademark is advertised before the actual film.

This affected our production because of the lighting and how the opening soundtrack can sync in with dialogue. It helped me particularly because it looked into the links with special effects and camera angles can link each scene together.
