Storyboard For The Main Task

This is a basic story board to show what we wanted for our project. This is also proof to show that we wanted to have the effect of snipits of the ongoing film.

Changes Which We Made

Many changes were made during the whol of the process of this production. For example, the idea of the Steve Wright murders only came into the media process a quarter into the researching etc.

Many different ideas were being brought forward to add on to the production we had finally had chosen. for example, instead of having the television interview, we were going to used newspaaper reports. This was a mix of real and made up newspapers to add effect.

What could have we inproved on?
Keeping on the same idea and keeping to it. Changing the ideas around made it harder to keep up on what we had to do for our production to work as well as the whole project becoming more confusing than it actually was.

Another thing was that was making it a problem was the organisation skills between the whole of the group. This goes across from sorting out what each person was doing and what they could bring back to the next meet up and then what we could do next. This ended up being a big problem. Not only was it organisation, it was also communination skills, unfortunatly, it was hard to get in contact with each other so that was a disadvantage to our whole production.

Props, Music, Costume and Technology

Props:
These were kept very much to a minumim, the reaon why is becuase we were going for the idea of snapshops of the whole of the movie if this was made to its full extent. this mean that there wasnt really a lot of detailed props used. Our opening sequence was based around action and emotions instead of any real change of pace. This was shown from the music which was played duirng the whole fo the production.

Music:
We did have problems with the music in which we were going to use. FOr example, we did a lot of research into the kind of soundtrack in which we wanted but couldnt find exactly what we needed. However, after looking into specific films related to the genre which we were looking at, the film Sweeney Todd had the best opening soundtrack which we wanted.

Problems did occour after we looked into the Sweeney Todd opening soundtrack, the reason why is becuase of the copyright which did affect what we wanted. However, becuase we were using the music becuase of educational purposes, then we wouldnt be effecting the copyright as much.

Costume:
This was the same as the props, this involved very little detail. however, in the interview, we did look at stereotyes. For exapmple, when we filmed two chatacters as teachers, we placed one character in athletic clothing to portray a PE teacher. Again, we placed another charather in grey, formal suit to portray a history teacher. On the other hand, snapshot photographs were used which involved no characters.

Technology:
The technology in which we used was very little which meant that it was editing the film and adding the soundtrack onto it. Not a lot was brought to make the production more confusing and technilogical than it already was.

Location Shots - Interview

On the interview, we tried to keep as much as we could to how a normal television news report would be filmed. This meant that we kept with the simple non-moving camera. However, during the period of time in which we had to film, a tripod was unable for us to use, this meant that we resorted to filming and with a steady hand. This, thankfully wasn't a problem.

For the interview, we used own of the groups homes, the reason for this is because we wanted to show a comfy but secluded enviroment. This helped on portraying the characters emotions and fearfulness.

With the lighting, we wanted to keep the dark, and secluded atmosphere so I kept a dim light on them. Another reason why the lighting was kept like that was to help portray even more on the charcters emotions.

Location Shots - Photography.

Location shots were kept pretty simple as we had the photographs during the production as well as using interviews to show the public's opinion.

Firstly, with the snapshots, I used the location of Mousehold heath. The reason why i used that particular area is because it was the best place in which I wanted to get the idea of a gloomy, eerie place. Also, I chose quite and cold, winters day so the sky was kept white which helped even better to bring that black and white effect when being that effect in.

Using the strong contrast on the pictures with the black and white effect helps even more to bring the scary, eerie atmosphere to it and that is what i wanted to portray.
