Sweeney Todd Opening

In the film, Sweeney Todd, it is based on a true story about a person who has a debt to keep to because of his past and being forced to leave his family etc. He then comes back for revenge but he comes back to see how much change has happened and how his family have adapted to this lifestyle, for example, Todd's daughter has been taken away from him and the judge, one of the most hated people is caring for him but being forced to stay in her room. security is a priority.

Something catches a nerve on Todd and brings a sense of madness. This is shown from how he easily killed other people by hiding his murders by selling the body parts etc. in pies to make a certain business. the way in which it is shown easily is that this particular film is a musical and the contrasts on that.

The opening sequence on this film is showing the dark parts of london in the 1880's - 1890's with silhouettes to help with that scary, eerie feeling in a busy city. Also, there is a process of representation of blood pouring through drains and puddles. This then shows how the film will progress.

This helped with looking at our project has we were going for the thriller genre. also, we wanted to keep with showing the big landscape shots with the strong contrast.
